There Are Different Accreditation Bodies. Which Accreditation Is Best for My Trade?

Of the many different accreditation bodies, it can be difficult to decide on which one you want for your trade. Luckily, our Health & Safety consultant Steve Matthewman has a golden rule to help your choice:

Go for whichever body you get asked for the most. Different bodies are more desirable to different sectors, so you may want to get a number of accreditations so that you have wider coverage, but, ultimately, the best course of action is to get an accreditation that will be most valued by your clients.

If you are looking to expand your customer base, it may also be a good idea to get an accreditation that you know a lot of your ideal customers are interested in. If you carry out domestic work, then the general public are most familiar with organisations such as CHAS, whereas if you are seeking a construction contract, construction companies will have heard of most accreditation bodies, so it would simply depend on which company you’re looking to work for.
