I’m already GasSafe/NICEIC (etc.) registered. I know what I’m doing. Why do I need risk assessments?
For those who are already accredited or registered with an accrediting body, it can feel as though they’ve already done their part to prove their competence, so why should they bother with risk assessments?
Put simply: it’s the law!
Strictly speaking, it’s only the law for businesses that employ 5 or more people, but risk assessments should always be performed as a method of good practice and good business. Imagine if a client asks to see your risk assessments to keep their staff and visitors safe on site and you have nothing to show them. Not taking the proper precautions not only endangers yourself and others, it also damages your reputation. Having good-quality risk assessments to go along with your accreditations can only add another string to your bow and boost your reputation.
