About Samira:
In her spare time Samira is an avid runner and successfully completed the London Marathon in 2007 raising over £1,300 for "Get Kids Going", a charity which aids disabled children. She is a regular runner for 'Race for Life' and is a member of her local running club. She is well travelled and particularily likes exploring the culture and art of the countries she visits as well as samplying their food (and then attempting to recreate them at home).
Previous employment / industry experience
Samira is a specialised employment solicitor who has extensive contentious and non-contentious experience. Since qualifying in 2008 she has worked in a national and strong regional employment law practice representing commercial businesses, medical professionals, police officers and senior executives in a range of unfair dismissal (including constructive unfair dismissal), discrimination (including harassment and victimisation claims) due to sex, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity/paternity matters, race, religion & belief, age, disability and equal pay, breach of contract, TUPE transfers, and whistleblowing claims.
She is an advocate and is frequently before the Employment Tribunal and Employment Appeals Tribunal.
Prior to qualifying as a solicitor Samira gained valuable experience through the Southwestern programme where she spent a summer running her business selling educational books so she understands the daily challenges faced by SME’s.
Client care is Samira’s biggest strength and this is enhanced by the fact that she also speaks Urdu and French and is currently teaching herself Turkish."
Areas of expertise
Samira places great emphasis on client care and importance in understanding the individual needs of a client. She works in partnership with employers providing them with personalised, cost effective and jargon-free commercial advice both pre and post litigation in the employment tribunal.
